Joellen Ammann

When Joanne Littman asked me to help at the 2018 Savings life Car show, I was ecstatic. I have been a volunteer in this community for over 20 years and this event was on my bucket list. I was asked to join the Board shortly after. Professionally I work at the Canoga Park West hills Chamber as the Community relations and starting in 2019 I was asked to join the Valley Cultural Centers Project Management team. Every event I do is like a big puzzle, the pieces all come together on the day of the event and it makes a beautiful puzzle for my community to enjoy. It’s an honor and a privilege to contribute to LAPD Traffic Division, it’s the least I can for those who rush in, why we rush out.

His duties have been anything from running command posts for Baker to Vegas, organizing meals/events such as check points and sitting on many different board of director groups. Jeff owns Century Specialized Towing & Transport and utilizes his community contacts to help support LAPD. This is where the love for the annual car show stems from. Jeff’s company surrounds him with some of the finest automobiles in the world, why not have them displayed for the community to enjoy. The car show has become a family event for the Littman’s. With his wife Joanne on the board they also have the helping hands of their children and all enjoy donating their time to this wonderful cause.

Joanne Littman

Joanne Littman has been a proud VTAC supporter/member for many years now. Running a busy real estate business as well as managing the household with kids in high school, volunteering within the community is what keeps her going!

Supporting the men and woman of VTAC has been such a rewarding adventure. Helping with the officer recognition event may be a favorite! Hearing the stories of heroism is the reason as to why she does what she does. Both Joanne and her husband Jeff Littman have been activity involved with supporting many divisions of law enforcement.  She says “a family that volunteers together stays together”.

Rob started working with VTAC in 2004 by donating printing for the golf tournament. Jeff Olshane asked Rob to join VTAC in 2006 and Rob accepted. Rob’s main concern is to help do his part to keep the streets of the San Fernando Valley safe by helping support the officers of Valley Traffic.

Honorary Directors

Bruce Bennett

Bruce was raised in Los Angeles (Hollywood) and witnessed the growth of population and automobiles. His concern was safety in the streets and highways which lead him to become involved in various car clubs to organize “safe car drives”. His passion for automobiles and restoration lead him into automotive refinishing products. His is the President and CEO of EUROPA Automotive Refinishing Products which is located in Toluca Lake, Ca. Bruce is very active and involved in Law Enforcement Associations such as 11-99 Foundation (CHP), California State Sheriff Association and VTAC. Bruce was introduced to VTAC by his friend Greg Meyer who founded VTAC and asked him to participate in the annual car show event in 2008. Bruce became a Board member in 2009. Bruce also served 2 terms (4 years) as Board of Director for the Ferrari Owners’ Club.

Greg Meyer

Greg Meyer retired in 2006 from the Los Angeles Police Department as a captain at the Police Academy, after three decades of law enforcement services. He continues as an LAPD Reserve Officer assigned to Training Group. Greg was the commanding officer of Valley Traffic Division from 1999-2004.

Jeff Olshane

Jeff Olshane started with VTAC in 2002 as a Director. Jeff was elected as President in 2005. Jeff started the Car Show with the Safety Fair several years ago. He also tries to keep Sober Graduation funded each year because he believes “We need to educate the young since they will be leading later”. Jeff is a retired helicopter pilot from a local police department and is currently working to become current with flying fixed wing and helicopters. Jeff owns and operates a screen printing business specializing in t-shirt printing and compliments that with signs and banners. Jeff also works for Keystone Towing, a police impound garage, as a manager and liaison between Keystone and LAPD. Jeff was born and raised in the San Fernando Valley and has seen first hand how traffic safety has changed. With the student driving, education and training program virtually eliminated from almost ALL high schools, our young adults just don’t have the driving education, instruction and training they used to be required to take in the years past to become a licensed driver. Without this basic foundation that was taught in the schools, they just lack the discipline that was taught. Jeff is now dedicated himself with his extra time to do his part in striving for safer streets in the San Fernando Valley in regards to traffic and pedestrian safety. Jeff’s future efforts in 2010 will be directed more towards the street racing problem we have in the SFV. Our young adults have had tragic results in the last few years with our street racing problems. Jeff also has quoted “Street racing is not cool, it’s deadly.”

Los Angeles Police Department

Captain Andrew Neiman

Andrew Neiman is a southern California native and grew up in the San Fernando Valley. His passion for serving his community developed at an early age and it was law enforcement that captivated his attention as he grew up. That desire to become a Los Angeles Police Officer was solidified in 1974 when Andrew arrived home after school one afternoon to discover that his family’s home in North Hollywood had been burglarized. Not knowing whether or not the burglars were still inside, he alerted a neighbor call 911. Within a few minutes an LAPD black and white turned onto his street and drove toward him. To this day, he can remember that feeling of reassurance and safety as the officers flipped on the two red lights and raced toward him as he waited in front of his family’s home. That was the kind of feeling that he wanted to provide to people who needed help, and it was that desire that led him to the Los Angeles Police Department. Captain Neiman attended California State University Northridge where he majored in Biology. Although law enforcement was always his first choice, he also excelled in science and was toying with the idea of becoming a doctor. While attending CSUN to complete his premed studies, he also took courses in sign language and hearing science as electives. These courses provided him with new insight about members of our community who are deaf or hard of hearing. Andrew ultimately graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communicative Disorders, Audiology. Although Audiology was an intriguing career it was not where his passion was and his desire to become an LAPD officer was still his number one priority. So finally in 1986, Andrew entered the LAPD academy and was on his way to realize his childhood dream of becoming an LAPD officer. Captain Neiman excelled through the academy although he will admit it was not an easy achievement, particularly running the hills around Elysian Park near Dodger Stadium. He ultimately graduated among the top of his class and was elected as the class president for his academy class. Captain Neiman did his probation in Van Nuys Division and that was the beginning of his exciting and rewarding career with LAPD. He worked a variety of patrol and specialized units including; Vice, Special Problems Unit and was an instructor with the Drug Abuse Resistance Education (DARE) program that was a highly successful community relations program taught in the schools for many years in Los Angeles. Andrew promoted to Sergeant in 1994, the year of the Northridge earthquake. As a sergeant he was assigned to a number of specialized details including the Rampart Task Force Investigation, which collected information and evidence that ultimately changed the way the Department would operate in the years to follow. Captain Neiman was also assigned to the Department’s Command Post Cadre where he gained great knowledge and expertise in disaster planning and mitigation. Some of his other supervisory assignments included Vice, Planning and Research and a loan to Internal Affairs. In 2001 he promoted to Lieutenant and was assigned to North Hollywood Division where he was later appointed as the Detective Commanding Officer for a number of years. In 2007 he was selected to be the Officer-in-Charge of the Emergency Management Section within the Emergency Operations Division. With expertise in disaster planning and catastrophic response and mitigation, Andrew soon became an instruction throughout the state and nationally teaching the Incident Command System and Emergency Management. In 2011 he was selected to become the Officer-in-Charge of the Media Relations Section for the Department. It was in this new role that he served as the Department’s spokesperson during a number of very high profile incidents including the Grim Sleeper Mass Murders, Christopher Dorner Manhunt, Camageddon, LA Marathon, and numerous others. In 2015, Andrew promoted to Captain and was assigned to Van Nuys Patrol Division which was an honor, since that was the very first division he was assigned to as a probationary police officer. After a year in Van Nuys, the Chief asked Captain Neiman to return to Media Relations and head up Media Relations and Community Affairs Group as the commanding officer. In March of 2017, Chief Beck reassigned Captain Neiman to Valley Traffic Division to serve as the Commanding Officer. Captain Neiman is excited to be part of the VTD team where the men and women work tirelessly to help make our streets safer for the motorists throughout the San Fernando Valley. It’s great to be part of this great team and to serve the community where he grew up and first developed his love for serving others. Captain Neiman is eager to serve alongside the highly professional team of VTD and looks forward to partnering with our diverse communities to make our highways and bi-ways safe for all who travel in our great City.
